The nbn broadband network in Australia published a media release for the new FTTC technology, and subsequent agreements it'll utilise in the roll-out. The purpose is to enhance end-to-end accountability, as well as, performance of the installation. Apparently the majority will be FTTC, while some may be connected via Fibre-to the Premises, Node or Basement (FTTP/N/B). The areas are for the build of approximately 525,000 premises in Sydney and Melbourne.
nbn Chief Network Engineering Officer Peter Ryan said:
“The new agreements will support our world-leading FTTC technology. Importantly, we have the flexibility to deploy other technologies easily over time. The design and construction framework is intended to enable a faster rollout, by providing end-to-end accountability for the footprint”, said Mr Ryan.
